Sunday Putney Walks

There's not much better than a Sunday spent going out for a pub lunch and then for a meander through a nice part of town. We had a wander to Putney, along the river and then up through Barnes. Luckily there are a lot of nice areas close to where I live :)

Carnaby Street's Bo-Rhap Christmas Lights

Carnaby Street has embraced the spirit of the new Queen film, Bohemian Rhapsody, and gone all out with it's themed Christmas lights this year. There's also a Queen shop on the street where you can buy film merchandise and see a small exhibition on the band...

Get out of the City: Oxford

You only need to travel a stone's throw away from London to feel as if you're in the middle of the countryside, but if you want to go a bit further afield, but not too far, Oxford is a great shout. Although I have lived in London for almost 4 years, I feel as if there are a lot of places in the South that I'm yet to see (I should make more effort to do this on a weekend, but it's so easy to get trapped in your "London bubble")...

Get out of the City: Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle, Berkshire. One of the Queen's residences - built almost 1000 years ago and the oldest inhabited castle in the world. I have a real fascination with castles, palaces, stately homes – basically anything grand and historic. Just knowing that you’re at a place steeped in so much history, (sometimes gruesome!!) is something special, and Windsor Castle isn’t short of this. It was built in the...

Get out of the City: Harry Potter Studio Tour

I was very late to the party in regards to being obsessed with the wizarding world of Harry Potter. I had read the first two books and seen the first film many moons ago, but I never really put much effort into getting into it. I never disliked it, I just hadn't tried to get into it. I always seem to be late on the bandwagon of "hypes" - Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad etc. and I kick myself every time for it...

Get out of the City: Sunday Lunch in Brighton

If you're in London then one of the most popular day trips from the city is Brighton - only about an hour on the train from London Bridge. Unfortunately the day we chose to go was windy and chucking it down, so I feel I haven't seen Brighton in all it's glory, I'd like to go back!
