The name's Joffrey....

If you know me well, you'll probably know that I love giraffes. I've been eyeing up a cardboard "Decopatch" giraffe for knocking on 5 years. I was nicely surprised by my work friends who turned up at my house with a huge box; inside it (dismembered may I add) was Joff.

I'm working on decorating him in floral patterns so will post some photos as I go along. Although to the dismay of my flatmate it's taking longer than expected....

This is Joff in the nude - he was dismembered at first and I had to attach his legs and neck/head to his body.

Half painted with one coat of white gesso. It's recommended to paint the figure white to ensure that the colours of the decorative papers I'll be using come through, without having a dull, brown background. It also provides a nice matte surface for the glue and paper to stick.

Ok, so this is Joff with his base coat of white all finished - 2 layers. Next up is the patterned paper to make him all fancy and fabulous (not done yet).
